Jeep anuncia o Grand Cherokee SRT8

A edição de 2011 do Salão Automóvel de Frankfurt será o palco da estreia do Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT8.
Debaixo da capota deste novo modelo está um bloco HEMI V8 de 6,4 litros que debita 464 cv e um binário de 630 Nm – acrescentando 49 cv e 61 Nm ao seu antecessor, um 6.1 V8. Mas, em virtude do sistema de desactivação de cilindros que desliga metade dos pistões sob leves descargas do motor, permite uma economia de combustível de 12 por cento. O desempenho deverá ser mais contundente, atingindo os 100km/h em 4,8 segundos e uma velocidade máxima de 254 km/h. Prevê-se que o preço deste Jeep esteja em pé de igualdade com o do Porsche Cayenne Turbo. O SRT-8 vai à venda na Europa no próximo ano.
